By no means is it pretty, but that doesn't matter to Curls. He loves to explore the different textures on it thru scratching, running his fingers over the assorted pieces, or even stepping on them!
To make the texture board, I used a heavy duty piece of cardboard and used clear tape to attach and secure several different textures to it.
The textures were all pieces taken from things around the house, including the scratchy side of a cleaning sponge, felt, craft foam, a piece of plastic bag, a torn off piece of an old towel, sandpaper, bubble wrap, silk, and a variety of pieces cut from old clothes such as denim jeans.
After cutting all the texture pieces to a near uniform size, I glued them down with my trusty hot glue gun then further secured them with clear packing tape.
Curls absolutely loves playing with his texture board! He can spend a good fifteen minutes at a time touching and scratching every different texture on it. All simply made from things around the home!
